May 18, 2012 11:37 am

Seiji Kitazato is one of the Creative Directors at the Fifth Avenue Salon on the top floor of Henri Bendel. He joined Frédéric Fekkai in 1996 after stints at top salons in Paris and Tokyo.
The healthy lifestyle Seiji embraces influences the way he styles hair and he’s known for creating signature, effortlessly chic looks (think Jean Seberg in Breathless). His morning routine includes a 5:30 am wake up call to run or bike along Riverside Park to relax and get inspired followed with a juice blend of kale, beet, ginger and lemon for a boost of vitamins and energy.
Inspiration also comes from watching classic French and Japanese films by Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, Yasujiro Ozu and Kenji Mizoguchi as well as reading books by Henry David Thoreau and James Allen.
Some of Seiji’s favorite clothing designers are A.P.C, Paul Smith, Prada and Helmut Lang and his friend’s line from Japan, M.A.R.S. provides must-have silver jewelry. For styling, Essential Shea Pot de Crème is perfect to tame and shape hair.
Seiji frequents Pure Food and Wine on Irving Place and Sushi of Gari to enjoy delicious, organic fare with friends and family. A perfect way to recharge and unwind after a long day.
